Keith Mundy is running for Congress in the Ohio 5th Congressional District to bring positive change and to hold on to what we have. Your contribution will help us spread our message and make a difference in the community.
Several Republicans who voted against the CHIPS and Science Act are taking credit for the bill’s support for tech hubs, many of which are devoted to energy and environmental issues.
All but four Ohio members of the U.S. House backed the bill. GOP Reps. Jim Jordan, Warren Davidson, Brad Wenstrup and *Bob Latta voted no after House Republican leaders and Trump urged their members to oppose it.
The law was one of the major accomplishments of President Joe Biden’s first two years. And as they did with the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, GOP lawmakers who opposed the legislation are now cheering its benefits.
*Bob Latta voted against these bills and is now out taking a victory lap through the district as if he voted and supported these bills.
Bob is A-Latta-Nothing is a lying fraud!
STOP Latta and Trump!
The threat of a second Trump presidency is real. Very real. Anybody that says otherwise is living in fantasy-land.
And if Trump comes to power, he’ll be helped by none other than my opponent, Bob Latta. Bob is the ultimate Trump yes-man who will do his bidding in congress.
Bob is a Republican incumbent. And as a result, he has a ton of lobbyist money heading his way. He'll have to raise even more this cycle. He knows that we will give him the fight of his life.
I managed the campaigns of Jeff Sites against Jim Jordan for two election cycles.
There’s only one way to defeat Bob Latta and keep Donald Trump in check and it’s through the efforts and donations of people like you. That’s just the reality of successful campaigns.
STOP Bob Latta and Trump!
Never forget the sedition, lies, and Trump's insurrection!
From claims that terrorists are invading via Mexico to lies about migrants bringing Covid-19.
“These are not talking points; these are facts,” Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, said on MSNBC.
If only that was the case. They weren’t actually facts — not his claim that Border Patrol officers have become “babysitters,” nor his reference to an “effective open border” with Mexico.
In a recent Washington Post analysis, three academics from the University of California at San Diego looked at the data to see if there was evidence of a “surge” at the border. Here's what they found: We analyzed monthly CBP data from 2012 to now and found no crisis or surge that can be attributed to Biden administration policies. Rather, the current increase in apprehensions fits a predictable pattern of seasonal changes in undocumented immigration combined with a backlog of demand because of 2020’s corona virus border closure.
How many Americans have actually been killed or injured by a terrorist who illegally crossed into the United States via the southern border? Zero. Zilch. Nada.
We can fix the border by fixing Central America!
Portugal Drug Plan
What if I told you that we could cut drug overdoses by 80% and save lives? Would you want to hear my plam?
In 2001, Portugal decriminalized the personal possession of all drugs as part of a wider re-orientation of policy towards a health-led approach. Possessing drugs for personal use is instead treated as an administrative offense, meaning it is no longer punishable by imprisonment and does not result in a criminal record and associated stigma. Drugs are, however, still confiscated and possession may result in administrative penalties such as fines or community service.
Importantly, the decriminalization of personal possession is only one part of broader health-centered drug policy reforms that involve an increased focus on harm reduction and treatment provision. By ‘accepting the reality of drug use rather than eternally hoping that it will disappear as a result of repressive legislation’, Portuguese reform allows drugs to be treated as a health, rather than criminal justice, issue. In the first five years after the reforms, drug deaths dropped dramatically. MORE to come.

Leveling the Economic Playing Field
President Barack Obama extolled the virtues of what he called "middle-class economics" or "the idea that this country does best when everyone gets their fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules." The president is on to something.
Ours is not a country where everyone plays by the same set of economic rules. Many longstanding federal and state policies privilege some businesses and not others. This tilted playing field isn't just unfair; it's grossly inefficient. It undermines competition, discourages innovation, and prompts businesses to expend billions of dollars in socially wasteful efforts to win the favor of politicians. But it need not be this way.
Capitalism is GREED!
STOP BLAMING A PRESIDENT
Remember that 'BIG OIL', coal, oil, and natural gas received $5.9 trillion in subsidies in 2020 — or roughly $11 million every minute.
Then they took in profits ... Three of the largest oil and gas producers reported strong combined profits of $85.6 billion in 2023. Exxon Mobil reported $36 billion in profit for the year, supported by further oil and gas production. Chevron outlined profits of $21.4 billion — the second-largest profits in a decade for both.
Both political parties have failed us in this "Hypocrisy we call a Democracy!”
It should always be about the people first ...

Ending Poverty
Successful economic empowerment – the kind that generates an income, builds self-worth and hope which improves the quality of life – requires understanding and commitment to the work. It includes new approaches to confront the causes and sustainable solutions that address the unique circumstances contributing to poverty in each community. Allowing all those in a society to have an earning capacity is one of the keys to alleviating poverty. When a person can provide for his/her family, he/she has the power to improve the standard of living, the health, nutrition and possibility for education. It also gives them more dignity and a better understanding of self-worth. Lighting the Path’s focus is on economic empowerment of women and all populations who are not given opportunities to earn a wage. They are the ones who can most benefit from education, skills and training that promote income earning, self-sufficiency and value in a society.

Health Care is costing as much as $20,000 a year for some families. Your taxes will go up for Medicare for All but almost every family will save money in the long run. There will NEVER be loss of coverage and you will be covered even if you are not working. Health Care is why so many people stay at a job they don't like. For employers, there will never be a need to spend hours out of each day dealing with insurance companies that fight you at every turn. Covering everyone with a government plan and decoupling health care coverage from the workplace would benefit entrepreneurship. As health costs continue to grow, straining employer budgets and slowing wage growth, others in the business community are beginning to take the option more seriously.

Charter School Accountability!
As taxpayer-funded schools, charter schools must be held to the same standards of accountability, transparency, and equity as traditional district public schools. Remember that Charter Schools for profit take money from the Public Schools. Is this the dumbing down of America?

Our Climate Emergency
Keith Mundy’s dedication to making a difference is our only chance to save us.
Climate change costs the world $16 million per hour. By 2050, the damage is estimated to be between $1.7 trillion and $3.1 trillion per year.
The effects of climate change are already here and we're seeing them across the state. But it's not just in Ohio.
There is no Planet B. So today we all need to do our part to commit to fighting to protect our environment for future generations. From demanding action from our current legislators to pass clean energy bills to electing pro-environment Democrats at every government level in 2024. We must ensure climate change is front and center.
Where I Stand on Freedom
The Trump years revealed a dark truth: The Republican Party is no longer committed to democracy. I will post what I need to. It would help if you woke up before you lose your freedom.
The Republican Party is not a party of ideas or policies; it is a party of grievance—including phony grievance—that is animated by the organizing principle of tribal resentment. It is hard to compromise with that, and achieving unity with those who embrace such a stand is tough. GOP leaders now see their future as tied to the exploitation of unfounded angst, the fanning of false narratives, and the suppression of democracy. The party resides within a dark, nonsensical, racist framework—and there is no sign this is a framework its leaders or its voters wish to cancel.
The Republican Party is the biggest threat to American democracy today. It is a radical, obstructionist faction that has become hostile to the most basic democratic norm: that the other side should get to wield power when it wins elections.
A few years ago, these statements may have sounded like partisan Democratic hyperbole. But in the wake of the January 6 attack on the Capitol and Trump’s acquittal in the Senate on the charge of inciting it, they seem more a plain description of where we’re at as a country.
But how deep does the GOP’s problem with democracy run? How did things get so bad? And is it likely to get worse? Stay tuned, and we will make this work for all of us.
Bob wants to Slash Social Security
Keith Mundy will protect Social Security.
Bob Latta wants to SLASH Social Security!
Social Security has a surplus of over $2 trillion. For over thirty years, however, It collected more in payroll taxes and other income than it paid in benefits and other expenses. The Treasury invested the surplus in interest-bearing Treasury securities, ultimately reaching a total of $2.9 trillion in trust fund reserves.
Social Security remains beloved and has bipartisan support among American citizens. Yet the program faces an insolvency crisis. It pays out more in benefits than it collects in taxes and is, therefore, devouring its trust fund. By 2034, when the fund is projected to run dry, it's estimated that 81 million Americans will face automatic benefit cuts of 20%. This is not an option, but I do have a plan.
To make Social Security solvent for the next 75 years, legislators could raise the tax rate from 6.2% to 8.1%. According to current actuarial projections, this would fix the problem until 2095. So, it is fixable but painful.
Legislators could close three-quarters of the long-term deficit by immediately abolishing the maximum taxable wage base (currently $147,000), thus subjecting all wages to taxation. I would do this.
Where I Stand on Women's Rights
Keith Mundy will protect a woman's right to choose with her doctor and family.
Republicans spent years arguing that abortion should be left up to the states. Then, they rigged the court to overturn Roe so they could get their desired outcome.
The GOP forgot about one thing: the people of the United States. We, the people, rose up against them and voted to protect abortion rights at the state level. We organized, rallied, and turned out in droves to defeat the GOP's anti-woman agenda. So now, abortion is a federal issue again, so much for states' rights. It would be funny if it weren't downright evil.
UNIONS
Artificial intelligence presents unique risks to the economic security and dignity of the working class in America. And it’s no surprise that Congress is behind the curve on placing regulations and safeguards around AI to protect workers.
We need Congress to place a check on AI in the workplace before it threatens wages and the dignity of work.
Recently, the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America were striking to protect their job security and wages — and AI protections were a central part of their grievances. Executives wanted to exploit actors and writers using AI, but workers stood up and said NO.
AI has been impacting workplaces across sectors, and its impact will only be felt more as time goes by. It’s time to protect workers in the new digital age.And our lawmakers have a critical role to play.
Workers should have a decision-making role in how and when their companies adopt technologies that will impact their jobs. Workers should receive compensation based on profit from the implementation of these technologies, not solely hours worked.
Congress is already behind the eight-ball on the issue of AI in the workplace. It’s time for lawmakers to act. I will get it done knowing that Bob Latta will not do a thing!

Starting in 2027, the proposed limitation by Republicans would cut SNAP benefits for 40 million people, including 17 million children, 6 million older adults, and 4 million people with disabilities in a typical month, based on CBO’s estimates. This would be the largest SNAP cut in nearly 30 years and would grow over time as SNAP benefits became more and more inadequate.
Congress should reject this misguided approach and instead pursue a farm bill that advances food security and family well-being by protecting and strengthening SNAP. The farm bill framework released by Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow, which includes key improvements to SNAP without harmful benefit cuts, should be the basis for farm bill negotiations moving forward.

Republican Falsehoods/LIES
Republicans lie, cheat, and steal!
Has your cat or dog been eaten by your neighbor?
Vance dominated the falsehood meter with faulty claims and out right lies on lost children, the environment, inflation, immigration and the Jan. 6 attack.
“Iran, which launched this attack, has received over $100 billion in unfrozen assets, thanks to the Kamala Harris administration.” said Vance.
This is false. Vance appears to be conflating two things as he answered a question on Iran’s attack on Israel..
Bob A-Latta-Nothing
Congressman Bob Latta released a statement celebrating a major investment in broadband internet for Ohioans. The problem? Latta voted against The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which made the funding possible.
It’s the latest example of Ohio Republicans taking credit for the work of Democrats to move our economy forward and help working families get ahead.
“Thanks to the work of Ohio Democrats, more Ohioans in Bob Latta’s district will be able to use their faster internet connection to Google his record of voting against their interests. It’s shameful that Latta is trying to take credit for legislation he voted against, but Republican politicians in Ohio have shown time and again they’re incapable of shame,” said Keith Mundy who is running to unseat Latta.
Bob Latta Has Voted Against the People!
Republican Rep. Bob Latta (OH-5) has been in Congress since December 2007. His horrific voting record shows that it’s finally time for him to retire or to be defeated in the next election.

Ohioans are no doubt worried about whether they will have enough to live on in retirement, especially with rising costs and stagnant wages. I feel like we are hearing a lot of doomsday scenarios from folks on the right who are hoping to privatize and hamstring a program that has lifted millions of elderly Americans out of poverty. These scenarios have a simple solution: raise the cap.
Currently, earnings over $160,200 are exempt from Social Security taxes. This cap means that high earners contribute a smaller percentage of their income to Social Security than middle—and lower-income workers. By raising or eliminating this cap, we can create a more equitable system, ensuring the program remains funded for future generations. We can all agree that someone making 10s and 100s of millions of dollars per year can afford to cough up a little more in taxes to support the seniors in our lives. They've earned it.
Moreover, raising the cap aligns with the values we hold dear in Ohio: fairness, responsibility, and community support. Social Security is not merely a government program ; it's a promise made to American workers who have contributed to this system throughout their lives. Fulfilling that promise is a moral obligation we cannot ignore.
Unlike my republican opponent, I won't let the seniors in our community fall into poverty on my watch. Defend Social Security, defend our democracy, and kick the bums out who are trying to dismantle the programs that protect our seniors.
